The program at Scottsdale Culinary Institute is comprehensive, challenging, and emphasizes a hands-on education. This rigorous education rewards our graduates with a credential known and respected throughout the United States.

The faculty and staff of Scottsdale Culinary Institute utilize a broad range of experience and education to make each student's experience a positive one. Their support prepares students for the abundant and diverse positions available in the culinary/hospitality industry.

Scottsdale Culinary Institute History

In 1986, Scottsdale Culinary Institute was created through the vision of Elizabeth Sherman Leite as she combined her solid educational background, experience, and zeal for properly prepared cuisine.

Scottsdale Culinary Institute rapidly built an international reputation of excellence, drawing students from throughout the United States and around the world.

In 1998, Scottsdale Culinary Institute proudly became a part of the Career Education Corporation (CEC). CEC is dedicated to building a network of career schools that are internationally recognized for the quality of their education and ability to place graduating students in positions within their chosen fields.

In 1999, world renowned Le Cordon Bleu arrived in the United States. Its partnership with Scottsdale Culinary Institute now combines classical French techniques with cutting-edge American technology. This union has ushered in a new era of culinary arts in the world.

Facilities at Scottsdale Culinary Institute

Scottsdale Culinary Institute occupies two conveniently located campuses.Our main campus, housing nearly 45,000 square feet of space, formerly served as a country club on a golf course and lakefront overlooking Camelback Mountain. The students, staff, and alumni of Scottsdale Culinary Institute are very proud of our history and accomplishments.

The main campus of Scottsdale Culinary Institute houses eight kitchens, including bakery, and meat shop, equipped with today’s culinary equipment necessities. Included are: heavy-duty ranges, induction ranges, rational combi-ovens, flashbake ovens, salamanders, open grills, deep fryers, wok stations, steam kettles, tilt-braziers, double stacked convection ovens, large and small reach-in refrigerators, walk-in refrigerators, prep tables, large freestanding mixers, ice makers, proof boxes, sorbet/ice cream makers, espresso machines, dishwasher stations, and other equipment required for culinary instruction.

These learning centers are designed and outfitted to meet the academic needs of the culinary program with classrooms located in rooms adjacent to kitchens. The facilities include a library and student study center.

The main campus at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute also houses L’Ecole, our award winning student run gourmet restaurant, recognized by Mobil with its highest student 3 star rating.

Our newest addition is our Sky Bridge campus Sky Bridge is a 49,884 square foot facility which includes a total of 8 kitchens and classrooms. These include: an affiliated production kitchen, an International Cuisine kitchen, the Showpieces kitchen an Advanced Baking kitchen and a Studio Demonstration kitchen. Also located at Sky Bridge is student run L’Academie, our Mediterranean, bistro-style restaurant.
