Pastry arts

View a list of pastry arts programs from throughout the United States including pastry arts programs from Pennsylvania, California, and more.

In almost every restaurant or food service establishment, dessert is part of the menu. Unlike the balance of the menu, cooks and chefs do not produce dessert items; pastry arts chefs do. Pastry arts chefs produce desserts with a specialized knowledge in baking. Therefore, whether produced in-house or purchased from an outside supplier, the Executive Chef relies on pastry arts chefs who have knowledge in this specialized area. This is where pastry arts come into play.

The goal of all pastry arts programs is to give the student a complete overview of the world of pastry arts. Pastry arts tudents are introduced to a sampling of various techniques and the material is covered in a user friendly workshop-style format, designed to cover real-life production methods and tips, including safety and health concerns. It provides the necessary foundation upon which you can build a career in the pastry arts.
